Edmodo
Edmodo.com is a site that offers teachers a way to host their class webpages in a safe online environment. Post notes, links, HTML, files, images, videos...you name it. You can also send out alerts or polls to your students, create assignments, and use self-grading quizzes.
One of the greatest attributes of Edmodo, in my opinion, is the camaraderie and collaboration among teachers linked to groups and professional learning networks there based on their content area and interests. Teachers post online learning tools, apps, teaching techniques, and their own personally created learning materials on a virtually daily basis. Many of the great teaching resources I have found in the last year I discovered through Edmodo teachers' shares.
